The historic tennis courts at the home of Dr. Robert ‘Whirlwind’ Johnson was featured for local Lynchburg, VA youth sports players as one of the activities to choose from for their, Give Good Day of Serving this November. Many thanks to the local sports community for pitching in to help keep Dr. J’s historic legacy alive and in good condition!

Lynchburg Area Youth Sports Initiative and community partners are excited to announce “GIVE GOOD Day of Serving,” a free community event on Tuesday, November 7th. This event promises to be filled with meaningful fun for all ages, promoting the spirit of giving back to our community.

GIVE GOOD Day of Serving will feature a variety of activities aimed at making a positive impact on our community while having fun with neighbors and friends. Participants can join in the following free activities:

*  Tennis at the historic courts at Whirlwind Johnson Foundation Property

*  Winterizing the Pierce Street Community Garden

*  Litter Clean Up

*  Johnson Health Center Medical Mobile Unit 

*  YMCA Y on Wheels Activity Bus

*  Lunch at no cost for participants

GIVE GOOD Day of Serving is an opportunity to connect with fellow community members, give back to your neighborhood, and enjoy a day filled with meaningful activities. It is open to people of all ages, and no prior experience or equipment is required for participation.
